Abstract
The use of mummy meat as a therapeutic product was common in the Golden Age. Quevedo shows in his burlesque satirical poems that he knew it well, which allows us to properly interpret several dark passages of his poetry, some of them directed against his greatest adversary, Luis de Gongora.
