The ratio production and reserves growth over a 20-year period is shown. The reserves of the region’s industrial categories make it possible to increase the annual gas production to 650–750 billion m3, oil – up to 80 million tons. An analysis of the state and changes in the resource base of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Kara Sea shelf has been carried out.
