Abstract
The article is aimed at overcoming the terminological uncertainty of the concept of "legal expertise" in Russian legislation. Based on the analysis of the current federal and regional legislation, the works of domestic lawyers, the author concludes that they lack clear grounds for identifying signs of legal expertise and distinguishing it from other types of expertise.
