It tells the story, in Lin’s words, about ‘a teacher, who has long used his status as a teacher to seduce, rape, and sexually abuse female students’.1 After the publication, Lin Yihan’s 16-minute monologue received 1.4 million views on YouTube, in which she cryptically reveals that Fang Si-Qi’s First Love Paradise is a semiautobiographical work, and that the creation of the abuser in the novel is based on her Chinese teacher in real life.
