Sounding Bodies: Identity, Injustice, and the Voice

Abstract

Simon Masterton grew up in Scotland and trained at Cambridge University, the Royal Academy of Music, and NIDA. He is a production voice coach, teaches spoken voice and music, and is certified in Knight Thompson Speechwork. Simon has been Acting Head of Voice at WAAPA, Perth, and Acting Head of MFA Voice, at NIDA in Sydney. He has also taught at Sydney Actors School, Actors Centre Australia, Sydney Theatre School, Toi Whakaari, and Cal State University, Long Beach. He trains teachers through the NIDA MFA Voice program, Knight Thompson Speechwork courses, and his company, This is Not a Drill. Simon is an Associate Editor of the Voice and Speech Review.
