Abstract
To provide instruction and evaluation of lecturing skills to medical residents, we developed a one‐on‐one course to run simultaneously with a resident lecture series. This course consisted of individualized tutoring in planning and presentation of lectures, immediate feedback at the time of the lecture, and individualized review of collated evaluations. At the end of the lecture series, the residents were surveyed about the impact of this course on their learning of format, clarity, and content in this series and other lectures. The survey showed that the residents paid more attention to these characteristics and found the exercise useful. This course will be repeated for new groups of medical residents.
