Abstract

Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) were prepared against different strains of Shigella, following immunization of BALB/c mice with a heat-killed preparation of Shigella. Antibody-producing hybridomas were screened in an indirect enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA) and epitope specificity determined using chemically defined lipopolysaccharide, lipid, and KDO fragments.
