Abstract
This paper discusses the author's work on challenges of connecting shipboard marine systems to medium voltage shoreside electric power. The paper makes the statement that five ships with medium-voltage distribution systems have been found to be cost effective. By this, the reader can assume that either perhaps all 12 ships are with medium-voltage distribution systems or that the five ships use a medium-voltage distribution system. However, neither of these assumptions is correct.
