The unappreciable challenges and uncertainty been faced by the organisation in the present century requires a whole relook at how human resources is managed and taken care of in the organisation. There is a perpetual question for every person as to ’where now from here’, and it has been the great endeavour for every management thinker to find an answer for this. An entire paradigm shift from vibrarian type of management to people-centric organisation, where people are considered, as the most important asset of the organisation has been the prime concern of most management. Professor Virmani in his book ’Managing People in Organisation: The Challenges of Change’, brings out the true pic-ture of how change has influenced in various fields and has highlighted how the managing style, HRM, HRD issues of the past and what is required in the present scenario. He clearly writes through his observation, how change is affecting the whole gamut of industrial life and how this change has asked for different outlook while managing human resources.
