Species had a similar diet (small-sized fish), reproductive effort, fecundity and fat accumulation, but C. piquiti showed larger body sizes, shoaling behavior, a longer reproductive period, and morphology associated with greater swimming potential. Overall, results revealed that these species coexist in the impoundment, with significant overlap in the use of habitats and food resources.
