Ausentismo laboral y salud: estudio de su importancia en el teletrabajo

Abstract

The empirical evidence found is shown on the association of health with labor absenteeism in food manufacturing workers in Mexico City by a descriptive and correlational study. The objective of this research was to question the existing paradigm that a worker is absent by illness due to loss of health (physical) and to evaluate the association that absences for other reasons different to illness (for example: unexcused absences) keep with the level of health. The results showed that mental health was associated with labor absenteeism. In addition, the way the phenomenon may be manifesting in telecommuting was analized, where it is likely that mental health plays a central role in productivity.
