Breve revisión del uso de microalgas para la remoción de contaminantes emergentes en aguas residuales

Abstract

Conventional treatments do not cope with removing efficiently emerging compounds from wastewater. This situation has motivated the investigation in new technologies with microalgae. This paper presents a brief review of the topic, since the definition, classification, and effects of these emerging compounds; the microalgae treatments; the mechanisms and the remove percentages from some emerging compounds. The information presented here is intended to be a help for future research in our country involving microalgae to remove emerging compounds from water.
