The methodology consisted of a quantitative survey using a questionnaire, with a descriptive character. Abstract

This article investigates teacher competence in an undergraduate management program at a State Institution of Higher Education, located in the state of Amazonas (Amazon), Brazil, seeking to identify these professionals’ profile within the academic context, using studies developed by Cheetham and Chivers (1996, 1998, 2000, 2005) as reference. The aim was to contribute to building a training program, focusing on the teachers’ reality, especially the complexity and lack of results dissemination in this area.
