Abstract

The X-bow concept was developed by Ulstein company, in order to increase the ship hydrodynamic performance. Low resistance, reduced fuel consumption, smoother motion and low acceleration levels are some of the hydrodynamics improvements. A theoretical analysis on the seakeeping performance of a supply vessel with X-bow form was performed by using Aveva Marine Engineering Software and it is presented in this paper.
