Abstract
We present a diagnosis of the studies about digital games in the field of Communication in Brazil, with the intention to reveal their main tendencies over the past 15 years. The theoretical framework was based on the discussion of the field of Game Studies. The sample was composed by the papers presented at Intercom, Compos and ABCiber and all theses and dissertations made in Brazil throughout that period. Results from a double- step quantitative content analysis indicate that Games Studies may have reached maturity in Brazil, but the research community remains small. Keywords : digital games, Game Studies, Brazil.
