La Ligue franc-catholique dans les années 1930 : sociologie et sociabilités militantes d’une génération de l’antijudéo-maçonnisme

Abstract

While the ideas and organizations of antisemitism and, more precisely here, of anti-Judeo-Masonism, are now well known, the same cannot be said of the sociology of its actors. The case of the League franc-catholique, a major site of anti-Jewish-Masonic conspiracy theories in the 1930s, shows that, far from being members of the lower classes, driven by socio-economic resentment, they were Catholic and ultraconservative members of the upper bourgeoisie. The mobilization of these resources allowed them to be extremely active under Vichy and then contributed, after the war, to maintaining their ideology, until today.
