O MAR QUE NÃO DEVOLVE SEUS AFOGADOS- NOTAS SOBRE O ÉDIPO EM "SENHORA DOS AFOGADOS"

Abstract

: Theater and psychoanalysis are knowledge fields that get along with each other. In this sense, the work of the playwright Nelson Rodrigues stands out. Nelson’s plays brought to the scene intimate, psychological and unconscious aspects of the characters. This work aims to propose a psychoanalytic interpretation for the play “Senhora dos afogados”, focusing the expression of the Oedipus complex in the play. To do so, a theoretical and bibliographic research of Freudian literature and its commentators on the Oedipus complex was carried out. Additionally, the characteristics of Rodrigues’ work that indicate its subversion in the theatrical setting in which it was situated were also pointed out. The analysis of the play was carried out through a reading-listening of the text, highlighting the associative links present in it.As results, it was possible notice aspects such as Moema’s relationship with her father and mother and its connection with the
