Abstract

MARTA FIGLEROWICZ is associate professor of comparative literature and English at Yale University, where she also holds secondary appointments in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and in the Film and Media Studies Program. The author of two books, Flat Protagonists: A Theory of Novel Character (Oxford UP, 2016) and Spaces of Feeling: Affect and Awareness in Modernist Literature (Cornell UP, 2017), she is working on a new project entitled “It Must Be Possible: Global Modernisms and the Problem of Trans-cultural Knowledge,” as well as on a book-length translation into English of the selected writings of Maria Janion.
