Abstract

: Th e article provides new data about the Neapolitan painter Alessandro Ciccarelli, in particular about his Italian phase, which coincided with his academic education between Naples and Rome, and with his participation in the exhibitions car-ried out in both cities between 1830 and 1843.We will analyze the work Abandoned Philoctetes of the Capodimonte Museum in Naples, we will bring it face to face with the other version of the MNBA in Santiago and we will demonstrate the origin from the classic inspiration that permeated his theories and his canvas.
