Abstract

Why Apitox? It is well accepted nowadays that pollinators such as bees encounter various environmental pollutants when they collect food, water, or nesting materials or when they nest in contaminated soil. Such pollutants may be emitted from cars, factories, agriculture, etc. Exposure to this pollution may lead to undesirable toxicological effects in individuals or their colonies or nests. The most studied environmental pollutants affecting bees are plant protection products, also known as pesticides, used mainly to protect crops from pests and pathogens or remove weeds.
