Abstract
Music has always been an integral part of Leslie Uggams’s (1943–) career—while still a teenager, she received her first recording contract and became a regular on the popular television show, Sing Along with Mitch, and in 1968 she won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Hallelujah, Baby!
