Abstract

Livestock Management is a complex and demanding process that requires specialized hardware and software. Advancements in software technologies during the last decade have made the development, deployment and usage of animal-farm management platforms more accessible even for smaller, specialized production lines, such as mink-fur farms. Additionally, the utilization of cloud platforms offered as services in various software solutions, can increase development speed, system availability and reduce cost. In this paper we present a low-cost mink-fur farm livestock management platform based on cloud technologies developed for small enterprises in the context of the WelMink project.
