Abstract
Empirical research in secondary education discloses that students lack interest, and even resist, learning about the Bible because they experience the Bible as dull and it does not speak to their modern selves. This article describes directions towards a biblical pedagogy which aims at a hermeneutic in which students develop a responsible relationship to Scripture in which they recognize its relevance for their world.
