Abstract
Network framework and unified administration do not affect ad-hoc networks since they have dynamic topology. This characteristic of MANET is leads to a number of problems like increase in overhead, increase in energy consumption, trust issues etc. This fluctuation in network topology makes them hard to utilize. Since these nodes are battery operated so they suffer from the issue of energy restriction which affects the lifetime of network depending on the usage of battery. The main motive is to provide energy efficient routing keeping in mind the residual energy of the nodes and hop count. We have used ant colony optimization technique for determining best routes. To achieve this goal, we develop a routing protocol that uses path optimization to minimize the consumption of energy. For the path discovery mechanism, we are using Ant Colony Optimization technique. We have used parameters like residual battery energy and path selection mechanism to classify efficient paths.
