Abstract

A subtractive expression cloning methodology was used to identify proteins having enriched expression at the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in comparison to liver and kidney tissues. A bovine brain capillary COS-1 cell cDNA expression library was screened with a BBB-specific antiserum.
