ASA, clopidogrel, and ASA + ER-DP are recognized as accepted first-line options for secondary prevention of noncardioembolic ischemic stroke. Combined antiplatelet therapy with ASA + clopidogrel has not been shown to carry benefit greater than risk in stroke or TIA patients.
