abstract:Shaw's Pygmalion is commonly thought of as an adaptation of the myth of Pygmalion, the sculptor who fell in love with his own sculpture. However, the name of "Pygmalion" in ancient mythology is shared by Dido's brother, Pygmalion of Tyre.
