Abstract

Volumes of research have been written about problem solving, which is one of the most important components of the human cognition that affects our lives for ages. In this work soft sets are used as means for obtaining a qualitative assessment of problem solving skills and of Case-Based Reasoning systems’ performance. The concept of soft set is a generalization of Zadeh’s fuzzy sets introduced by Molodstov in 1999 as a new mathematical tool for dealing with the existing in real world uncertainty in a parametric manner.
