Abstract

Abstract:Elizabeth Durfee Hengen and Jennifer Goodman outline a watershed-wide preservation initiative for Squam Lakes and how it has provided a road map for protection of a 40,000 acre region of central New Hampshire. They describe how a close alliance with conservation interests and outreach were key to raising support and interest to create a National Register Multiple Property Documentation Form that has led to short-term preservation successes and promising ongoing efforts.
