The results showed that the mixture of sunflower oil methyl ester and diesel fuel gave a power and torque close to the values obtained from the diesel fuel and the amounts of pollutants decreased. At the maximum torque, amount of CO and NOx decreased 21% and 11% respectively. Similarly, they decreased 7% and 12% at maximum power speed. As a result, considering the exhaust gas emissions it was seen that sunflower oil methyl ester and diesel fuel mixture could be used as an alternative fuel in a diesel engine.
