The prize is awarded to talented geographers who in the past year have received their Master’s or PhD degree in geography. In 2020, the Award for Master theses in Geography was awarded to Michael Zörner for the project entitled: Exploring the upgrading of protected areas from a social equity perspective: a case study from Laos’ first national park and Simon Nyboe Laursen for the project entitled: “Sedimentation of microplastic particles in the coastal environment”. Abstract

In 2020, the Royal Danish Geographical Society established the Geography Talent Award to support the objectives of the Royal Danish Geographical Society; to promote knowledge of the earth and its inhabitants, and to spread the interest in geographical science, and not least to strengthen the bond with young academics in the field of geography. The prize is awarded to talented geographers who in the past year have received their Master’s or PhD degree in geography.
