Abstract
Millimetre wave radar has been successfully applied in cloud research for a number of decades. The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) has developed a 94 GHz radar based on solid state components and operated in Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) mode.
