Abstract

SUMMARY In this paper, we proposed the phase disturbing device us-ing randomly-fluctuated liquid crystal (LC) alignment to reduce the speckle noise generated in holographic displays. Some parameters corresponding to the alignment fluctuation of thick LC layer were quantitatively evaluated, and we clarified the e ff ect of the LC alignment fluctuation with the parameters on speckle noise reduction.
