Abstract
Particle shape and size are the two most important characteristics of a powder that affect its apparent density. It is necessary for copper powder producers to understand the relationship between these physical properties and the production parameters in order to obtain a specified product quality. In this paper, an experimental study of the effect of electrolysis parameters (copper concentration, acid content, current density, temperature, electrode spacing, and brush-down interval) on the copper powder deposition (particle size) is described, and a correlation is established by dimensional analysis. Information on the electrolytic production of copper powder and the characteristics of the deposit can be found in the literature.1,2
