Considering the current situation of urban traffic signal control, a single intersection two-stage fuzzy control system is proposed in the paper. The first stage consists of the green light phase traffic intensity module and the red light phase traffic intensity module, the second stage is the decision module. The controller can analyse and estimate traffic situation through gathering the sensor data, determine whether the current signal phase should be extended or terminated. The simulation procedure has been developed by matlab, in contrast, under the same condition, an actuated control method is used in intersection, procedure is also been written. Abstract

Traffic signal control has become one of the most important topics in this era. Considering the current situation of urban traffic signal control, a single intersection two-stage fuzzy control system is proposed in the paper. 城市平面交点模糊控制与仿真
交通信号控制已成为这个时代最重要的课题之一。针对城市交通信号控制的现状,提出了一种单交叉口两阶段模糊控制系统。第一阶段由绿灯相位交通强度模块和红灯相位交通强度模块组成,第二阶段为决策模块。控制器通过采集传感器数据,分析和估计交通状况,确定当前信号相位是延长还是终止。利用matlab编写了仿真程序,在相同条件下,采用驱动控制方法对交叉口进行控制,并编写了仿真程序。对比结果表明,两阶段模糊控制方法的性能优于交通驱动控制方法,两阶段模糊控制方法可以有效地降低车辆平均延误。
