Abstract

The adsorption of copper valerate, compared with copper nitrate, on HZSM-5 and γ-Al2O3 was studied using IR and inductively coupled plasma (ICP). The surface area and pore structure of HZSM-5 and γ-Al2O3 was measured with nitrogen physical adsorption. Results indicated a chemical adsorption of copper valerate occurred on the surface of γ-Al2O3 and external surface of HZSM-5. The =(COO)2Cu was the adsorbing group.
