Abstract

New communications technology coupled with using GIS and GPS technology gives an opportunity to bridge the gap from the sensor-equipped aircraft to the user of the information. Finally, remote sensing information can be delivered in a form that is tailored to the needs of the end user. The challenge today is to keep to simple systems that make sense operationally rather than try to integrate every new technology.
