Abstract
In distributed interactive simulation based on the high level architecture, the aim of data distributed management (DDM) service can efficiently reduce the network traffic and save system's resources. The approach for multicast grouping is the key of DDM. The two most common approaches for multicast group allocation are the region-based and fixed grid-based types. In this paper we proposed a new approach based on them. Results of the simulation experiment show that this approach can significantly reduce the message overhead and use fewer multicast groups.
