Abstract

The steady-state one-dimensional equations which govern the potential and temperature distributions in a plasma diode which operates in diffusion state are solved in closed form as function of a parameter, which is related by simple quadrature to the actual distance from one of the electrodes. From this solution it is possible to study in detail the electrical and thermal conduction problems and to construct the voltage-current characteristics of the diode.
