Abstract

: The present scientific work intends to show the influences of philosophers predecessors of Emmanuel Lévinas for the engendration of its philosophy with fundamental principle in otherness. The philosophy of Lévinas, without disregarding the importance of great names in western philosophy, develops permeated by the novelty of the value of responsibility for the other in the relation of Ethics of Otherness. We highlight the philosophical contributions of Emmanuel Lévinas's predecessors such as Husserl, Heidegger and Descartes and the Levinasian critiques addressed in a clear and objective way to the husserlina and heideggerian philosophies, which according to the french-lithuanian philosopher are philosophies whose foundations are totality and western ontology
