Abstract
This paper presents a novel compact AC/AC converter suitable for hybrid microgrids. The proposed topology is used to interconnect two three-phase renewable energy resources and one three-phase load to the grid, side by side with the appropriate generalized pulse width modulation and control method of the microgrid power flow. The proposed topology, generalized pulse width modulation, and the utilized control methods are introduced in this paper. The proposed converter has impact not only to the size but also to the overall cost of the microgrid. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the validity and the applicability of the proposed converter and the employed control method.
