Abstract
EnglishA new species of the genus Schlueterella Wiedmann, 1962 is here described. Twenty specimens of this heteromorph ammonoid were collected in northern Coahuila, Mexico. Schlueterella stinnesbecki n. sp. seems to have been an endemic form in the late Turonian-early Coniacian. This is the oldest definite record of the genus and a basal form in its evolution away from Neocrioceras.
