The byproduct steam synthetic furnace system in a company’s technological process of preparing high concentration hydrochloric acid was taken as an example in this paper. To obtain more perfect safety condition index system of the byproduct steam synthetic furnace system, the HAZOP was applied to analyses the possible causes and consequences of parameter deviation during the device running. Then, according to this established index system, fuzzy integrated evaluation was employed. The results show that the combination of HAZOP and fuzzy integrated evaluation not only achieved semi-quantitative assessment of system, but also evaluated the degree of importance of the parameters at each node to the normal operation of the device and the integral safety of the node.
