Abstract

In the paper under consideration the authors synthesize an oscillating cylinder mechanism for the case when the first and second order transmission functions are given, without specifying the position in which these functions are to be assured. After completing the synthesis, that is, after determining the link lengths, the position is also found in which the imposed transmission functions hold. Graphs are here presented which enable us to readily find the parameter λ (representing the relation between the length of the frame and crank), when R3 and R3 are given.
