Abstract
The GEPE (Research Group in Sport and Exercise Psychology) is a research group combining research, teaching, and consultancy work in the field of Sport Psychology. In the consultancy field, and in order to integrate scientific evidence into its applied practice, this group developed a five-step model to structure the response to demands from different sport organisations. These five steps include: (1) Literature update, which allows us to know the most recent advances of our discipline in the field from which the demand comes; (2) Needs analysis, where the specific demands of relevant informers are selected and assessed; (3) Intervention, encompassing the integration of scientific evidence and the perceived need in order to propose the best operational approach; (4) Assessment, which serves to verify the impact of the selected; and (5) Monitoring, to check the durability over time of changes derived from the intervention. This model may serve as a guide for sport psychologists who want to take advantage of the most recent advances published in our discipline, thus making their applied practice more rigorous and innovative in order to offer the best service to their customers.
