Abstract

The railway fading channel has a significant impact on the design of wireless communication systems for railways. In this paper we present a general stochastic fading channel model based on a large body of measurements performed in railways at 930 MHz. Measurements allow a characterization of the variations of the channel fading behaviors, and the developed empirical model ensures a straightforward and timesaving implementation of the fading channel simulation.
