In the presence of Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, the microwave induced oxidation process (MIOP) was conducted for the treatment of synthetic methyl orange wastewater. The factors influencing color removal of methyl orange were investigated and the results showed that: under a given condition (catalyst dosage 2g/L, microwave power 900W, irradiation time 5 min, without adjusted to pH), the color removal efficiency of methyl orange (containing 20mg/L) approached 93.2%.
