Abstract

A mathematical description of convective mass transfer in the processes of solution flow round a single fibre and through a layer of fibres is proposed. It is shown that theoretical dependence of the rate of mass transfer on flow rate, viscosity of dye solution and rate of diffusion of soluble substance is similar to those that are determined empirically. The results of this investigation may be used for theoretical analysis of fibre layer structure in the filtration and mass transfer during dyeing and washing processes.
