Skąd, z czym i w jaki sposób etnografia/etnologia/antropologia pojawiła się przed 100 laty w odrodzonym państwie polskim?

Abstract

Ethnography/ethnology/ anthropology was present in the Polish state, from the very beginning of its restoration in 1918, as one of the disciplines within the framework of national science. It became possible thanks to the work of several generations of researchers who in the second half of the 19th century, in the difficult times of Poland’s partition, gave to their long-held cognitive interest the shape of a scientific discipline. The article is devoted to discussing persons, events and circumstances that led to this situation.
