Abstract

AbstractIn this paper the transmission-line matrix (TLM) numerical analysis technique is used to determine the resonant frequencies of propagating modes in loaded microwave ovens. An investigation is reported for the variation of resonant frequencies of transverse electric, TE, and transverse magnetic, TM, modes as a function of height of the loading material. Effect of varying the dielectric constant and location of the load in behaviour of mode-tuning is also illustrated. The presented numerical computed results are for a rectangular cavity of a commercial microwave oven and at the heating frequency of 915 MHz.
